AMBIGUITY

In highlighting the role of ambiguity in the visual experience, it has been said "no ambiguity, no interest," an expression that celebrates what happens when art conveys multiple interpretations and relies on the viewer to provide context and meaning.  In this way, the viewer's imagination becomes a central player in the life of the image.
